FAQ
The SVCS Weight-Loss Program is designed to give you the right tools and support to help you achieve your health and weight-loss goals. SVCS providers are trained to check your physical health, review your lifestyle, set realistic goals and prescribe weight-loss medication when appropriate.
During your weight-loss consultation, your SVCS provider will review your past medical history including current medical conditions, medications, height, weight, body mass index (BMI), diet, lifestyle and weight-loss goals. The provider will then determine if you are eligible for weight-loss medication and provide a personalized weight-loss plan for you.
GLP-1 agonist medications mimic the effects of a natural hormone that tells your body to make more insulin which lowers your blood sugar, potentially increasing the feeling of fullness and can contribute to weight loss.
A SVCS board-certified provider can prescribe weight-loss medications virtually or at an in-person visit. Your provider will evaluate your overall health including a physical exam and will review your past medical history, current medications, height, weight and body mass index (BMI) to determine if you are a candidate for weight-loss drugs.
If eligible, SVCS providers will determine the best weight-loss medications for you. SVCS providers can prescribe oral or injectable FDA approved weight-loss medications including Orlistat, Semaglutide, Saxenda and Tirzepatide. FDA approved medications ensure safety, efficacy and rigorous quality standards that give our providers and patients the confidence they need.
